How I was poisoned… John Okafor (Mr. Ibu)
In a video trending online, popular Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, alias ‘Mr Ibu’, recounts his personal staff poisoned him. Mr Ibu says he almost died after taking the poison, but God saved him.
He says his stomach grew bigger after he was poisoned, but that he has been taking medicine so it has reduced to the point where he can see his feet.
The film star was tricked into going to Nnewi, Anambra state. On getting there, he was beaten to a pulp and given poison to drink.
“They took me to Nnewi, saying we had a show. They held me there and beat me up. They beat me and then inserted poison in my mouth and ran away, leaving me there. It was my boys and dancers that came and carried me home. It was in Enugu that I woke up. God said no, you are not going yet.” he said
Speaking further, the actor said;“Here in my office, they brought the first poison, I took it. I was falling around and nobody came to ask. Even the workers did not enter here even though they were hearing me fall around. I vomitted something in my bathroom. They gave me the second one, The people that gave me are the people working with me. I swallowed another one unknowingly because I never suspected them until when God opened my eyes. They paid them and gave them enough money to make sure they eliminate me.
“All these plans are from Enugu, my towns people and age grades that are surprised that I can own some things, build some houses, buy house in Lagos. They asked them to go and kill me.”
Okafor, however, noted that he has left the case for God to judge.

I drink cow urine daily – Bollywood star
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has revealed that he drinks cow urine daily, joining a growing number of Indians who believe it has medicinal benefits – including against the coronavirus.
Kumar is considered a staunch supporter of Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, which has earmarked millions of dollars for research into products using bovine waste to cure diseases like diabetes and cancer.
There is no comprehensive scientific evidence of any medicinal benefits, but several politicians from Modi’s right-wing ruling party have advocated using the dung and urine to cure coronavirus.
The 53-year-old actor was promoting his appearance on a show with Britishtelevision adventurer Bear Grylls, in which they drink tea made from elephant dung in an Indian tiger reserve.
“I was too excited to be worried. I have cow urine because of ayurvedic reasons every day, so that was okay,” Kumar said on a social media live chat posted Thursday.
Many Hindus believe cows are sacred and drink its urine for medicinal benefits.
Modi’s government created a ministry of ayurveda and yoga, with Modi suggesting in June that yoga could help create a “protective shield” against the novel coronavirus.
COVID-19 has infected 4.6 million people in India and killed 76,000.
So many times when we think of “being in love”, the connotations are that it is something that happens to us. It’s something mysterious, aspirational, and ultimately out of our control. While it is mysterious in a way, it’s most certainly not out of our control. This misconception has unfortunately hurt many marriages because it subtly leads us away from the true nature of love.
True love is an action first. It’s a choice. As Lewis has chosen, we must also choose to stay “in love”. God has graciously given us the ability to choose love and act accordingly, but we need his help.
Defining love without Jesus is an exhausting exercise at best. This is because we need an absolute standard—a method of verifying and validating the actions of love. “Why should I love someone when I don’t feel like loving them?” Without a standard, love is whatever we feel it to be at any given moment. Our version of love is tossed every which way like waves in a storm. It’s unreliable, fleeting, and unsustainable. In short, it’s not actually love, it’s something else.
Everyone wants to love and to be loved, but not everyone understands or wants to pay its price. If we resist the actions of love, it is not love we desire. We want something else… something costless, shallow, and without true consequence—without power.
The love we experience in Christ and live out by the power of the Holy Spirit is the true kind. It’s life changing and life-sustaining. It’s not always easy but it is always worth it. The question is, do you really want love? Or do you want something else?
If it is, in fact, love that you want, there is good news: choose love and you will have it! It’s all yours, but first, look to Jesus! Let God’s Word define love—what it is, how you receive it from God, and how you give it—and you will experience a deeper love than you ever imagined.
